1. Find the following article in Academic Search Complete: “Arabic Hip Hop: Claims of Authenticity and Identity of a New Genre.” Is this from a scholarly journal or a popular magazine? Give three reasons that you can tell.

This article is from a scholarly journal and I can tell becuase of the following characteristics: 1) the title is specific, 2) the source of the artice is a journal, and finally, 3) the article is quite long; 27 pages.

2. Find the following article in ASC: “The Sound of Love” by Hisham Matar. Is this from a scholarly journal or a popular magazine? Give three reasons that you can tell.

This article is a popular article and I can tell because 1) it’s title is very broad, 2) it only consists of 3 pages and 3) the outline of the article is very general.

2. Search for articles on your topic in Academic Search Complete (ASC) published in 2008. How many articles were there? Create a citation on your own for one article using MLA style. Post to your blog.
